Another day, another walkthrough. Today’s walkthrough? You only live once!

DISCLAIMER: This game is harsh insofar that once you die, without doing evil things to your flash cache, you cannot play the game again. Instead, I have found this fun youtube clip of the game and what happens when you win! I must say, dieing in a pit kinda has a better ending…

I really liked the effort that was put into this game, but I don’t like the fact that you can’t play it again (without doing crazy shit) I mean, I got to play this game twice, and I got tired of trying to kill everything in order to get it to work again. It would be nicer that after the ending finished a few times, it actually did let you play again. I would of liked to die in different locations and see if there was an alternate ending and such…

Travian.com is a fun webgame that I have been playing to fill my time. One of the annoying things though, is when you are in a large alliance, they use weird terminology and never explain wtf it means. For example, lets use the term “Hammer”

Since my alliance is going to war, they have been saying, everyone post your hammer and let us know the size of it. Well it would be nice if SOMEONE had a termonology page or something… regardless, after much reading, here is what a hammer is:

A 15C that has enough troops on it to destory the opposing force. More importantly, the hammer should consist of the most powerful force that your race offers and the ability to level a city wall and have enough catas to level the city.

In essance, without reinforcement, your “hammer” should be able to defeat any village that is not another 15c. Doesn’t that sound much simplier? I thought so!

A game? Oh boy a game? Whats the game called? Conquer Club!

If you love risk clones, you will fancy Conquer Club right off the bad. I’m going to give the good, bad, and ugly about this game.
Good

There are a bunch of active players and gives you good risk playing. So far, I have played 8 games, and won only once. Now, for those of you that do not know, I have played risk A LOT since I was a kid, so I know how to play the game and basic strategy. While I’m sad about the 1-8 ratio, it means that these players are good! This game is really not for beginners to start out on though. I still suggest using the normal board for that.

Bad

Free games allow for 24 hour turns and 4 active games. You are thinking, wow that is a lot of games! Well, it seems that no one has the same schedules so turns take FOREVER! I have a group of friends that I play this game with, and I have been part of a game for 2 weeks and only have 7 turns done. I am hoping by christmas time to have completed a game. Time will tell. Of course, if you pay, you can have unlimited games and “speed” games where you have 5 minutes to go your turn. When I free up some dough, I think I need to look into this a bit more as that sounds rather fun.

Ugly

Obviously, it is a risk clone, so you cannot use the same board. The classic board is very hard to follow and I find it difficult to determine what pieces are mine and the opponents. I have found myself make horrible decisions due to this. They also have several other boards that you can play, but they all seem a bit dumb…dunno I guess I just like the classic!

Conclusion

Once you get beyond the fact that it is hard to see, the strategies are the same and it just makes for some good risk playing. Anyone that likes risk, will like conquer club! My nick is Koopa, come hit me up for a game!

Well, first of all, it is hard as sin to create a username for this game. I tried all the standard stuff, and nothing worked for me. So, I had to go deep down and create the worst name I could think of. Thats right, sexykoop123456! Its sad, I know. The game I am talking about? My Brute, of course!

First, lets talk about the concept of the gaem. You create your own character and you duel with other people’s generated characters. It is all automated, so you can’t really interact with anyone. As you fight more, you level up. You can also level up by getting people to create accounts under your name. The more experiance they get, you get.

The game is rather simple and basic, yet amusing. I dare anyone to check it out and spar against the mighty, SEXYKOOP123456!

In the middle of creating my second major webgame, SimDerby, I am finding the challenges to be much different than SimYard. This time around, the balancing act is in creating a schedule of races that has a variation to it that matches as closely as possible the variation of horses. If there are only three 2-year-olds in the game which can run at a mile and a quarter, then there shouldn’t be any of those races on the schedule, for example.

I’m finding that successfully mastering a task like this all comes down to having the right tools. It all seems easy looking at it from the other site now that these tools have been built, but it was rough trying to figure out what they needed to look like before they were built. They tell me which races are being canceled because there aren’t enough horses so I can remove them from the schedule. They tell me a cross-section breakdown of horses which went a whole day without running in a single race so I know to schedule more races of those types. They show me the schedule of races for each track and allow me to fill in the missing races with the types that I need.

Currently, there are seven tracks in the SimDerby universe. Each of these tracks will have a race every five minutes and the schedule will be the same every day. That’s over 2,000 races a day that need to be hand-crafted to match the balance of horses that can run, and there will probably be more tracks added. This seems like a daunting task, but ultimately this schedule will be what horse breeders and owners interact with. More importantly, computer horses running on this schedule will represent the claims pool that owners will choose from to begin breeding.

I expect these numbers to only grow. It’s a good thing I have these great tools to help, because they sure do save time. The schedule is one of the most important parts of the game, and it’s deserving of lots of attention.

Now, you ask, how does one cheat at this game. I have not done it, but others have. You can get the Travian Bot! DISCLAIMER: Travian disvows bots and you can run the risk of your account being banned. If this occurs, create another account and perhaps don’t be so aggressive with the bot functions.

http://www.squidoo.com/Travian-Cheats

This bot will provide auto-farming, auto-leveling up buildings and much more. Basically, it allows you to play while you sleep! Who can ask for anything more?

Good luck and happy cheating! Also, feel free to join me on server 7! Farm you when you get there!
