Age of War Walkthrough

August 1, 2008

Hints and tips to beat the new flash game Age of War.  Proceed through the ages to defeat your foe.  Learn how to kill more enemies than your own soldiers.  Just follow these tips!  You can play Age of War on Kongregate:

http://www.kongregate.com/games/Louissi/age-of-war

The overall strategy is a cycle, and it works like this.  You let the enemy send units across the map and then use your Special on them.  Then you send out a group of your troops to take out the remaining enemies.  Your troops will cross the board and eventually die, and you wait.  Your enemy will send more enemy units across the map, and you repeat the process until you can upgrade to the next age.  When releasing the unit, it’s good to release a melee unit (or two) followed by a set of ranged units for support.

Stone Age – Club Man $15, Slingshot Man $25, Dino Rider $100 – Combos: Dino Rider + Slingshot Man, Club Man (x2?), Slingshot Man x2 – the Special isn’t very effective here.  It kills about half the guys across the screen, but not all.

Middle Age – Sword Man $50, Archer $75, Knight $500 – Combos: Knight + Archer, Sword Man + Archer x3 – the Special here rains arrows down, killing almost all guys on the screen.  It is quite a bit more effective than the previous one.  Be sure to use your special before you buy your level upgrade.

Gunpowder Age – Dueler $200, Mousquettere $400, Canoneer $1000 – Combos: Canoneer + Mousquettere x3, Dueler (x2?) + Mousquettere x3 – the Special here gives a bonus to all units on the screen instead of attacking everyone.  It sucks.  Canoneer + 3 Mousquetteres are very effective.  Send them in wave after wave.  Be sure not to use your special when you’re about to evolve to the next age.  Also don’t send out any more waves to prepare for filling the whole screen with enemies and killing them with the Special for the next age.

Modern Age – Melee Infantry $1500, Infantry $2000, Tank $7000 – Combos: Melee Infantry + Infantry x50 – Rows and rows of infantry will take out any enemies fastest.  Lead them off with a Melee Infantry and then just keep the regular infantry coming.  The special normally kills all enemies, but sometimes misses dramatically.  When you get in close, roll a tank in the mix to push through to their defenses and take out some of their base.

Future Age – God’s Blade $5000, Blaster $6000, War Machine $20000, Super Soldier $150000 – Combos: God’s Blade + Blaster x50, War Machine + Blaster x50, Super Soldier + Blaster x50 – Finish them off with wave after wave.  The special here is super effective and kills everyone so lure them in and use it.  Keep sending just enough troops to beat them back to their base and give you enough time to rechange the Special.  You’ll be victorious in no time!  Remember that the Blasters work like the Infantry in the previous age.  Chain them up and they are super effective.

Aol Contacts to Blackberry

I recently had someone who wanted to do this but I had no idea how to go about it.  After a few minutes searching on this, I found the following directions.

You have to install the AOL Sync program. There are two ways to install the AOL Sync program: with the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager or via a wireless connection.

This document explains how to install the software using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
To install AOL Sync using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager:
1. Go to the AOL Sync for Blackberry Web site (http://bbsync.aol.com/), then click the Download Now button.
2. Unzip the downloaded bbaolsync.zip file. Make note of the directory you have unzipped this file to as you will need it again later.
3. Plug in the BlackBerry handheld device.
4. Start up the Desktop Manager.
5. Double-click the Application Loader icon.
6. Click the Next > button.
7. Click the Add… button.
8. Click the aolsync.alx file in the directory noted while completing step 2 above, then click the Open button.
9. Ensure that AOL Sync is checked and the Action: listed is “Install.” Click the Next > button.
10. Click the Finish button. Four modules will load onto the handheld: com_aol_aolsync.cod, com_aol_aolsync_client.cod, com_aol_carriers.cod, and com_asoft_midp_zlib.cod.
11. Close the Application Loader Wizard window.
12. Close the Desktop Manager.

This document explains how to install the software using your wireless connection.
To install Sync using your wireless connection:
1. Confirm that your wireless connection is on. If not, select the Radio Tower icon on the main ribbon screen, press the track wheel, select Turn Wireless On, then press the track wheel again.
2. Open the Internet browser. This may be labeled as Internet Browser or Browser; often the label will include the name of your carrier. Once the browser page opens, it should bring up a default page. Select Home Page, then press the track wheel. A menu will then pop up.
3. Select Go To…, then press the track wheel. A window will pop up where you can enter a URL. Type bbsync.aol.com, then select OK and press the track wheel.
4. After the Web page loads, select Full Installation, then tap the Enter key. The download screen appears. Tap the Enter key to start downloading.
5. Once the program has been downloaded and installed (this may take a while), you should see a window pop up that says, “Application was installed. Device must be rebooted to complete the installation.” Simply select Reboot, then press the track wheel.

Once AOL Sync has been installed, it must also be configured.
To configure AOL Sync for BlackBerry:
1. From the main BlackBerry menu, select the AOL Sync program, then press the track wheel.
2. Enter your screen name and password.
Note: If you are using AOL® Passcode, you should enter the passcode number on the main AOL® Sync screen after your password, using the following format: password/passcode.
3. Please select the applications you wish to sync. By default both Address Book and Calendar are selected.
Note: Select Settings to change your synchronization settings on the Settings screen.
Address Book: A checkmark indicates that you want to synchronize with your AOL® Address Book information. Tap the space bar to uncheck this box if you do not want to synchronize your address book.
Calendar: A checkmark indicates that you want to synchronize with your AOL® Calendar information. Tap the space bar to uncheck this box if you do not want to synchronize your calendar.
Auto-Sync Every: Select the time interval in minutes, indicating how often you want to check the AOL® service for changes. If you select 0 minutes, this feature will be disabled.
Service Provider: Tap the space bar to select your service provider. If your service provider is not listed, you will need to select User Defined and enter in the appropriate information from your service provider.
4. You will receive a message stating that, “The application aolsync has requested a https connection to bbsync.aol.com:80.” Select the Don’t ask this again for: https connections to bbsync.aol.com:80 box, then tap the space bar to place a check in it.
5. Select Allow this connection, then press the track wheel.

Gangster War Walkthrough

Another game?  Why not!  The game?  Gangster War!

This is the first game of this kind where I found that the defence was a WASTE OF TIME!  Who would of thought it?  Generally, you build up your defence and wait for the right time to attack.  I found that this game it was not the case.  Here is what I did to beat this game.
Always invest in the highest level of person.  Build them in two clips.  I thought of this as primary and backup.  Once the primary died, build two more.  Whenever you can, use the attack boost.  If you have enough money to build two units and build the office upgrade, go for it.  I found the snipers to be a waste of time.  Also, make sure that you have enough money to buy the next level person as well.  Assume that the price will be about double you pay now.  You do not want to have a cash flow issue if you are thinking of upgrading the building.  Personally, I didn’t even notice a money increase when I did this, but I just assumed it was a good thing to do.  Keep up this process and eventually, you will beat the game.  Sounds simple right?

Good luck!
