How to beat the Naughty Supermarket, the latest “Naughy” game to hit the flash circuit.  Here you try to pick up a woman in the supermarket and make out with her in the store room.  If you have a slow computer, you may find the timer too fast to complete this.

1. Take the flower petals from the flowers.

2. Click on the can of beans on the shelf.

3. Take the XXX porn from the shelf and put it in the boyfriend’s pocket.

4. Take the knife and use it on the ham, then drop the slice of ham on the floor.

5. When the old lady comes by, get the Crunch down for her.

6. Take the mistletoe and put it on the hook.

7. Click to continue to the final scene.

8. Take your photo in the photo booth and put it on the employee of the month sign.

9. Take the rose petals and put them in the basket in the lower right.

So, I do a SHOW PROCESSLIST command in phpMyAdmin, and it shows a ton of SELECT statements that have EXPLAIN in front of every one of them!  Now, I never even heard of the EXPLAIN keyword, so I certainly didn’t do it.

It took me a couple hours to figure out, but PHP was putting it there.  I had turned mysql.trace_mode = On because the comments said it would give me warnings to table/index scans.  It did give me a couple warnings where I didn’t call mysql_free_result(), so I was happy with it.  But apparently it also added EXPLAIN to all SELECT statements in order to get some data out of that.  Well, I don’t want to slow down the database, so I turned that off.  Good to know it’s there I guess, and exactly what it does.
