So, I am quitting my job, and thus I need a new corporate phone for my new job.  I am getting slightly burnt on the blackberry, seeing I have used it for several years, so I figured I would give the IPhone a crack.  So far, I love the phone but the weirdest thing has been happening.  I have had the phone for one hour, and I have received two unsolicited calls!  I cannot believe this!  I thought it was illegal to have these calls on cell phones.   When I received these calls on my home phone, I figured someone put the wrong number down.  On a brand new cell phone?!?!?   It is outrageous!

First call came from 1-801-281-4985 at 3:51 PM.  I was not there to answer this call.  It is no where near my area code, so I can only assume that it was a spam call.

Second call came from “unknown” at 4:08 PM.  This call was the “your car is out of service contract” bullshit call.  I have received several of these calls on my house line.  My house line is also on the Do Not Call registry.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do?

MY brother in law had bought a new laptop and asked me to set it up.  I figured why the hell not, laptops are really say to do.  First lets go for the specs of the machine.

Well what is there to say about this computer?  It feels a little bulky and is not as slim as other laptops I have worked with.  It is more built for a desktop rather than a laptop.  This works for the people that like the concept of laptops but never take them anywhere.  I hate built in videocard, but that is how laptops roll.  I wish there was a way to have the videocard without stealing from the memory pool.  I am sure that some laptops have this, I haven’t run across any that do in a few years though.  Perhaps my next laptop, I will make that a priority to research.  I also do not like the screen clip that holds the computer down.  It looks flimsy.

I digress, for what the computer is, it will work fine with vista and his needs for a computer.  Since he is not looking to move the computer around a lot, the weight and design are not high on his list of worries.  All in all, if you are a casual laptop user, this laptop would work well for you.
