Well, I had fun with Wii Tennis, I figured I would give Wii Bowling a whirl. Considering I actually know how to bowl, I find Wii bowling to be very simular to actual bowling. I find that my average in Wii Bowling is pretty close to regular bowling. (180ish just in case you were curious)
The Swing
Take some time to figure out how you swing the wii-mote. Don’t do any aiming, just swing. After awhile, you will notice a pattern with your swing. Use it to get the ball to hit the head pin.
Once you have the basic concept of your swing down, you should then proceed to playing with the angle. The goal is to either hit the head pin on the left or right. If you hit the head pin dead on, just like real bowling, you will end up with less than desirable results.
The Ball
The color of the bowling ball you use is based on the gender of your Mii. Boys get blue balls and girls get pink balls. The pros get to use a start studded ball!
When the game starts and fades to black you need to hold the control pad on your wii-mote in one of four directions to get a ball of a different color:
- Up – Blue
- Down – Green
- Left – Red
- Right – Gold
Parlor Tricks
If you swing and release the ball so it goes behind you all of the Miis who are watching the game will jump up in surprise!
If you move all the way to a gutter and then spin your aim over you can throw your ball so it lands in lane other than your own!

I am wondering how you get a pro ball in the bowling. Then what decides on how you keep it.

You need to bowl around 190 average to get pro ball. Once you achieve the pro ball, you need to keep your average around 180/190. Once you get a hang of the game, it isn’t THAT hard!

is the pro ball heavier than a non pro ball?

no. There is no difference between pro and normal. The ball is shinier, thats about it!

You can see the spin properly on pro. Makes you much cooler.

there IS a difference between the balls. The pro ball IS heavier and creates more spin. I have mastered the game and know the difference.

Is there any thing else after the pro ball?

I don’t know about after the prop ball but I have an average of 224 right now (this changes with every game of course) and I am stuck on one thing. How does the game calculate your overall points (mine is at 1435) and the up and down + or – that it gives. I know how to get the average after bowling the last 3 games but the overall I don’t get.
When I first went pro, I lost it quickly but once I gained it back I started getting better all the time. Once you get over 1300 you are a good enough bowler to be safe in not losing your pro ball.
Anyone know of any tricks out there ?
