Two stories hit the news outlets at nearly the same time here, and I think it’s important to draw a contrast between these two candidates on this. This isn’t an issue or a plan, this is something they have already done, and I think this is how they should be judged. I believe that we need to watch the candidates, and see how they campaign, that this will reflect the way they will govern.
Obama is currently raising $30 million per month. He raised $32 million in January, and is on pace for $30 million in February. This averages out to slightly more than $1 million per day. Hillary, on the other hand, is out of money. She raised less than half of Obama’s numbers in January, and she has now asked her supporters to raise $3 million in 3 days, slightly less, and slightly late. Obama knows how long this fight is going to be because he is prepared to fight it. Isn’t that the kind of person we want as President?
Imagine a President who saw the hurricane heading for New Orleans 48 hours before landfall knowing that it was going to be stronger than the levees. The hurricane was a Category 5 hurricane. It was possible it could go down to a Category 4 before landfall. The levees were only built to withstand a Category 3 hurricane. We experienced a failure of leadership on that date.
If there is another national crisis, I trust Obama more than Hillary to be prepared for it. Today on CNN they said that Republicans are preparing to “hold their nose and vote for McCain.” They seemed to imply that it was McCain’s wife who they were quoting. I am unwilling to hold my nose and vote for Hillary, which is exactly what it would be. I don’t want Hillary in charge of this country. She’s got too many ties to too many people, and she is pulling in favors to get elected — which will be expected to be repaid.
Bill Clinton is taking a $20 million payout from Los Angeles billionare manager Ron Burkle while Hillary is loaning her campaign $5 million. To me, this is dishonest. It’s as dishonest as violating your word and turning on people who vote for you.
If Hillary is the Democratic nominee, I will not support her. I want nothing to do with this kind of politics anymore. Barrack Obama is the candidate who will put an end to all the favors, because he owes all of his debt to the American People who financed his campaign individually.
Hillary will say anything, do anything, promise anything, and put herself so far in debt to the rich and powerful in this country, that she will no longer be able to fulfill any of the promises she has made throughout her campaign. She has already broken some of them.
