Project Sillican Zebra

December 13, 2007

Welcome to Project Sillican Zebra!  We have moved ship and went from the free site umbrella and went with a hosted solution.  With the move comes some changes.

For one, Vir4030 is dead.  long live Erick!  Vir is no longer hiding behind his virtual name and has come out of the closet!  Good luck with him!

For two, we changed the name.  Personally, I wanted Erick and the turtle shell but as we were kicking around ideas, we were joking about The Sillicon Files.  Another friend compared the name to Murder at 1600.  Unfortunately, The Sillicon Files house no secrets about the Presidents administration (sorry girls, we did not rape and kill anyone.  I know, disappointing) but it kinda grew on me.  We will miss the stupid name of Computers, games, and life randomness…but we all will move on.

Third, we now have a completely ugly banner on the top of the blog!  We will change this in time, so please bare with our site for the time being.  It is slightly ugly but not 1/2 as bad as when we first started.  All the templates looked like crap!  I am amazed by wordpress on how much free stuff you really got!  I took a lot of what I had for granted. As stated that we are making changes, Erick already resolved this last night and my browser did not refresh yet.  If you see the rainbow, hit refresh :)

Forth, we will be venture into some tasteful advertising shortly.  Nothing crazy but I would like to pay for the costs of hosting.  I will not do anything that takes away the core values of the site (sex, drugs, and rock and roll!!!!)

Finally, I hope everyone has a great time here as they did before.  I think you will.  We have made/will make a lot more changes and it should be for the better!  Feel free to add your 2 cents on some other things that you think we need as well.
