Walkthrough of Helix Defense

December 8, 2007

Helix Defense is a Tower Defense game written in flash.  This is a walkthrough to get you to the high scores for Helix Defense, which can be found here:

http://www.helixfox.com/gamehelixdef.php

The key to the walkthrough will be relying on one Chain Turret and a couple of Slowing Turrets. The extra money will be spent on generators to get a good income and interest rate. Each wave automatically begins about 10 seconds after the previous one ends, and this is the time that should be spent building what you need for the coming wave. If you are following through this walkthrough in real time, pause it as soon as the wave ends, while your money summary is scrolling by. The money summary will continue to scroll, but the game will be paused. You can tell because the shadow ships aren’t flying by the screen when it’s paused. (there’s no other way to tell) If you have a turret selected, the pause button is hidden. So remember to deselect the turrets when you’re done upgrading them by clicking on the path the ships follow.

Without any further ado, here is the walkthrough, with building instructions for the first 18 waves.

Wave 1: Build a Chain Turret in the lower-left-most spot on the main square island in the middle. This should be able to hit ships briefly as they come down the first path, and briefly as they pass along the bottom of the screen. Also build one Generator in the very top left of the screen. Hit the START button.

Wave 2: Build 3 more Generators going down the left side of the screen

Wave 3: Upgrade the Chain Turret to +1

Wave 4: Build 2 more Generators going down the left

Wave 5: Upgrade the Chain Turret to +2

Wave 6: Build 7 more Generators

Wave 7: Build 1 Slowing Turret halfway down the first hallway on the left, on the right side of the hallway. Align in one square above the Chain Turret. Also build 2 more Generators.

Wave 8: Upgrade the Chain Turret to +3. Build 2 more Generators.

Wave 9: Build 4 more Generators

Wave 10: Upgrade the Chain Turret to +4

Wave 11: Build 8 more Generators

Wave 12: Upgrade the Chain Turret to +5

Wave 13: Build 15 more Generators

Wave 14: Upgrade the Chain Turret to +6

Wave 15: Build 11 more Generators

Wave 16: Upgrade the Slowing Turret three times to +4. Build a new Slowing Turret six squares later along the same wall and upgrade it four times to +4.

Wave 17: Upgrade the Chain Turret to +7.

Wave 18: Fill the whole map with Generators.

Wave 19 on: Build new turrets every wave.

Your point is going to be to spend your energy leaving about 600 energy left. This is how much you need, with income and interest, to refill your energy back to the cap of 1500. If you don’t spend it, it’s lost, so invest it in turrets every wave.

SimYard Update

My inbox is absolutely full of people asking for updates on SimYard, and I always give the people what they want. The last couple of days, I’ve been working on the live interface of the game. Now, the game is a strategy management simulation, action and button mashing are not part of that genre. I don’t think many people are going to be watching every single game of the season. If you do the math, it’s 6+ games per day. I’d like to allow people to “watch” past matches, though, and of course when games are actually live there needs to be an interface to experience them in real-time.

So I’ve been working on this live field display. It’s a part of a bigger information page, this being the only part that moves at all. I want it to be somewhere you can look to anticipate the action, and judge what you think is going to happen before you get the results. For example, if you hear the crack of the bat and see the ball flying towards the outfield, you’ll get excited for a second, thinking you just hit a homerun. But you have to wait and see where the ball stops flying, so that builds a little suspense. The game is going to be flying by in 10-15 minutes and viewable in a browser, so our options are limited. I recorded a video, although the sound didn’t come out. Here it is, on YouTube:

Want a place to find out the best gambling sites?

My father is addicted to gambling sites.  The problem is that he has no idea which sites are solid and which ones are fake.  I had been looking on the Internet for him to try to find a safe place he can play the various sites and I don’t have to worry about cleaning up the mess :)   For ease, click the link below:

online casino
I know that my father had been gambling at www.goldencasino.com.  What I find out now is that the rating is only in the 50s.  I plan on suggesting him to play a higher ranking like www.rushmorecasino.com or www.casinobellini.com.  These sites have much better ratings and they look pretty fun too!

The main site has a great layout and makes it easy to see what sites have higher ratings than others.  After you click on a review, it provides what the site gives you and some screen shots of the gambling sites in action!  It also gives you reasons to play at the site and gives a breakdown of the game-play.  All in all, it is a solid review site!

Give it a click and let me know how it goes!

Review and walkthrough of Champion Archer

And the next game on the review block isssssssssssss CHAMPION ARCHER!

http://www.addictinggames.com/championarcher.html

This is one of my favorite games!  It starts like this, you are a stick figure.  You have a bow and arrow.  You command other stick figures.  They have swords.  You want your army to march to the other side of the screen.  The hitch?  There is another stick army marching to get to your side.  The only advantage is that you have the bow and arrow!

After around board 6 or 7, a big stick figure comes across as well.  You need to hit the stick figure a couple of times before it dies.  I have found that you should not rush the beginning rounds for you want to get some $$$ for the upgrades.  You only get money by killing the other end with your arrow.

This game is totally awesome!  I give the game play value a 8 and a replay value a 10.  I have played this game for years now and it is just a great classic!  Two thumbs up!

Get Paid to Blog with Smorty

I have given up on Pay per post.  My site has been put in limbo for over two weeks and started doing research on other sites that pay for blogging.  Apon my stumbling, I came across SMORTY!  For your reference, go here to check it out!

get paid to blog

So far, I am very happy with the service.  It took them less than a day to approve my blog and there is a couple of nice advertisers that I can review.  As long as you follow the rules, you get the money!  Who does not want to blog for money!

Currently I am kinda short on cash and I am hoping that snorty will assist in this area.  If I can get an extra 20 dollars a week, that would totally rock!

Well I am going to give this a try and see how it goes.  So far, I am feeling good about this.  Lets see how it goes and I’ll let you know how the service is!
