bored…the hole between 2-5:30 needs to be filled

November 12, 2007

It seems I find myself bored from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.  I need to find something to fill in this hole every day.  From time to time, I have actual work to do.  But this is not all the time…

I need another hobby to fill in this gap.  In the mornings, I have my daily post to write.  I also check electoralvote.com, chat on irc, catch up on email, and read a few blogs on the internet.  This is generally over by noon.  I eat lunch and play around on wordpress for some…possibly even write another post…and this is where the boredom fills in.

I am hoping that my grad school can fill in some of this gapage.  I also have continual documentation that I should be keeping up on as well…that is besides the point… :P

If anyone has any good suggestions on how to kill time at work, I would totally be up for it.  It cannot be games or anything like that….I like making it appear like I am a productive member of society :)

Training class for Outlook….popular so far

So I decided to throw a training class on how to use the basics of outlook.  I figured that since I do not do anything at work, I might as well create things for me to do at work.  Since I am slightly weary of people asking me how to reply to an email, I figured this was a good start.  Here is the email I sent out to my home office…

Hello,I would like to start providing training classes for the various office products.  The first class is going to be on Outlook.  The class will be roughly one hour and will follow the basic topics:How to compose/reply to an emailHow to create a contactHow to create a distribution listHow to create/edit your signatureOpen Questions/Answer sessionThe first class will be on Wednesday November 14th at 2PM in the large conference room.  If there is a lot of interest, we may have to have multiple sessions.  Also, take this time to suggest any other software applications you would either like a refresher on or want to know.  A few other examples I was thinking of is PowerPoint and Word.  If there are enough people interested, I would be happy to share my knowledge on these products as well.If you are interested in attending, either send me an email or call me at ext 3190.  If Wednesday does not work for you, let me know as well and I am sure we can try to work something out.Thank you very much and have a good weekend.

Koopa

I honestly thought that I would get one or two takers, tops.  So far, I have 4 people that are going and 4 people said that they would attend another session.  I want to make these no more than 6 people a session so so far so good!  Once I have all my materials setup, I’ll be sure to share… :)

Review and NO WALKTHROUGH of TelepathRPG2

And the next game on the review block will be……TELEPATHRPG2!!! As always, here is the link for ease of gameplay… :)

Normally, I provide a walkthrough of the games as well but this game is too complex to provide such a feat.  I also am going to review this game without actually beating it since I had some complications during gameplay which caused me to lose most of my men and I found a bug in the game where I cannot recoup them because when I go back to the main base, it automatically warps me to another section.  Very disappointing.  With that said, onto the review!

This game starts out rather cryptic.  You wake up in a room with no memory of where you are.  As you walk around, you realize that you are in the main base of a different race than you.  Clearly, you are human, but these other people are not.  They are little energy ball things and you find out that they are at war with the humans.  The first thing that came to my head then, is why am I here?  The second thing you find out is that you are a slave to the energy balls.  The only thing you can do is be forced to do missions for the energy balls and insanity ensues.

The thing that I really liked about this game was the graphics.  The game had a feel of final fantasy 3 for t he SNES.  The game is more like a console game rather than a flash game.  The person/people that developed this did a really good job.

The controls were a bit tacky at times.  during battles, each character has a certain amount of steps to take.  After you take your steps, you then have the ability to attack.  Once all your people move, the opponent attacks.  The thing I didn’t like about it was it seemed that my people ALWAYS got into the way of the other people.  You had to fight in order that you place your people and I always seemed to place my healers before the “attackers”  This meant that either my healers would get in the way or I couldn’t get to the people that needed healing because other people were in the way.  I would of liked the ability to swap the active person in order to move the way I wanted to.  I do not see why that would of been so hard, since I move all my people at once before the enemy attacks.

Storyline – From what I have played, it is rather kickass.  It keeps you guessing on what is going to transpire.  I would imagine that some point, you lose the slave bracelet and attack the globes that held you captive, but I simply don’t know.  IF anyone has beat this game, please feel free to comment your results so we know how it ends…. :)

I really liked this game but I invested about 5 hours in it and I hate playing games from the beginning because of a screwup…

All in all, from what I have played, the game is a 9.  Awesome graphics, awesome storyline, and everything is great except for that little bug I experienced.  I recommend you play this game!
