Review and walkthrough of Feudalism

November 7, 2007

The next game to review on the block is Feudalism.  You can play this game here.

http://www.addictinggames.com/feudalism.html

The game starts off rather slow but has its own nice feel of the characters.  You have the option of 8 characters to begin with, but the only difference of the characters is where you start in the game.  If you want to make your life easy, start with either Edgar or Selena because they are from the “easy” part of the map.  The main differences between the 8 characters is the main weapon that you will use, if you want to go with a hand-on choice, pick a character that has a sword.  If you want a character with distance, pick a character with the bow or spear.  Again, I recommend Edgar since he starts off with the easiest weapon and easiest location.  As you start the game, you are given the option to invest “points” to different things.  If you invest your points in Sword, per-say, then your ability of hitting with the sword will increase.  I would not invest in anything blow the Free Points until you have increased the 4 core level parts.

Strength – Strength is the primary attribute for swords and axes (even throwing) and it is important for any melee fighter as it improves melee damage.   Also, armor made in Forest Lands also require high Strength.  Long story short, the stronger you are, the more hit points you deal out.  There are also minimum levels to equip certain swords and armor (the real reason why you level these up)

Dexterity – Dexterity is the most important attribute of all ranged characters.  All bows (and ranged weapons) require high dexterity to use.  It also greatly increases character’s dodge, allowing him to evade enemy attacks.  Armor made in East Empire also requires high Dexterity. – Long story short, with higher dexterity, you will be able to hit people with your arrow (or whatever)  You also need a certain level of dexterity to equip certain weapons (which is why you would really invest in this as well)

Constitution – Constitution is very important attribute for everybody.  It increases hero’s hit points and allows him to wear the best armor and shields.  It is also needed for using better maces.  – The higher the number, the better armor you can equip.

Intelligence – Intelligence is the most important attribute for any commander.  It is required to master skills Patriotism and Art of War.  Also everyone 2 points of intelligence increases your unit’s HP and damage by 1% – The higher this number is, the better your army can kick ass.

Now that we are equipped, lets play the game! When you begin, you start in your base town.  In the town, you have the following:

Forge – Allows you to buy and sell weapons.  Never buy weapons as you get better ones when you kill people.  The forge is where you sell excess weapons from battle.

City Hall – Here you can ask for a quest (the town tells you to either go to another town or a camp to defeat people.  You need to go back to the town you requested the quest from to get your money) declare war (you can only do this in towns you do not already occupy) and get hero stats.

Barracks – Here you can purchase soldiers.  You can only get soldiers from towns you occupy.

Temple – here you buy potions to heal yourself.

Barn – Some towns also have a barn.  You can buy horses here.

Harbor – Some towns (on the water) have a harbor.  You can sail to islands for the small cost of 4k.  In the beginning, this is a lot but once you really get going, this will be chump change.

with that said, you now need to build up an army and kick some ass.  If you walk around the main area for a little while, you get a battle.  When you win, you get EXP which gives you points when you level up.  If you lose, you need to recover from a save point.  Build up enough money and exp to take over some of the smaller towns.  Then move to the bigger towns.  After awhile, you will be unstoppable and take over all the towns.

Once all the towns are completed, technically you beat the game.  Unfortunately, the game has no end so you can keep wondering from town to town and requests quests.  Since you are richer than god, himself, there is no point to this.  The replay value is also pretty low since there is no motivation to build up your armies again to get to the “god” level.

All in all, the game is fun for the first time around and a bit challenging.  Once you get the hang of it, it becomes rather easy and boring and loses its appeal.  For the first 5 towns you beat, the game is a 10.  Once you become unstoppable and there is no point to playing, the game goes down to a 6.  Since there is no ending, the game ends up at a 4.  I enjoyed the game as a whole but it needed more work.

I went to addictinggames.com to play Feudalism, but I am having the same trouble, in that after defeating rogues, I go back to the city that was to pay me for the rogue defeat, but when I click on ‘city hall’, noone is there to give me my gold.

I like the game but when you get good in the game it really gets boring you’re right and the review is good and fair also I think that Crusaders are THE BEST TROOPS IN THE GAME. Also, Edgar is good because a short trip to Alexandria will get you great stuff and you can cheat and get NaN gold by clicking on the character and right-clicking and pressing “forward”

I had the same problem as zach. The first few quests work, but after a while they stop working like later in the game.So you have to pla it for a while to see the problem. I played it at addictinggames too so thats not the issue.
