Here is a conversation between myself and a user that has a treo….
ME: “Helpdesk, How may I help you?”
User: “I have a problem with my treo. I enter in a calendar appointment for 11 AM and it appears in outlook at 10 AM”
ME: “It sounds like a timezone issue on your treo. You need to change the timezone in goodlink…”
USER: “I do not have goodlink”
ME: Do you get company email on your phone? If so, you have goodlink.
USER: I do not have goodlink.
ME: OK…well you need to change your timezone on your device.
USER: How do I do that?
ME: I do not know since you do not have goodlink
USER: Well walk me through it.
ME: I need to see your device…you are saying that things are working without company supported software. If you had goodlink, go here.
USER: I do not have goodlink.
ME: bring in your device so I can check the settings.
USER: I do not have goodlink.
ME: I cannot help you unless I see your device.
USER: I do not have goodlink.
ME: Please bring in the device and I will check the settings.
USER: OK I will bring it in tomorrow.
Sigh…I am ashamed of what humanity has produced. BTW, I will bet 10 dollars that she has goodlink since the calendar is syncing back to outlook without going over the wire. Regardless, it is a timezone issue
